Ooh La La Hens
I'm so sorry! I meant to get this out earlier. I thought I had posted it earlier. It was written last night. Last night, before the bottom fell out.
To be more precise, before the Christmas tree fell over. Want to know how long it takes for one woman to clean up the mess that an eight foot tree makes when it crashes to the living room floor? Three hours. Three hours to clean up all the water, needles, smashed ornaments and general mess. Doesn't help when the tree keeps trying to kill you by falling on top of you two more times. From midnight until 3AM last night, I fought an epic battle with my tree. I cried. I cursed. I laughed and then cried some more. The tree is standing and completely redecorated, but I just can't trust it anymore and that is slightly heartbreaking.
Needless to say, I've been a little sleepy and fuzzy brained today. Before this day is over, I give you
Yes, shoppers day three brings us . . .

. . . more flippin' birds.
Have I mentioned before how much I don't like being cold? Yeah, I thought so. One of the worst things about being a cold (besides that frozen from the inside out feeling) is keeping the fingers warm. Frozen fingers don't work so well. So I tried wearing my gloves all day long. While my hands stayed warm, there were many things I just couldn't do. Things like put in my contacts, answer my iPhone, open the applesauce jar, type with speef and profoxiency.
Very distracting trying to enjoy a book (or write one) when your fingers are too frozen to turn the pages. How can you help make reading the best experience, short of hiring James Earl Jones to sit on the couch and read every word aloud? Fingerless gloves.
Even my husband says that fingerless gloves are all the rage this year.
Let's review that sentence. My husband who gets dressed by grabbing whatever is on top says that these fingerless gloves are very "in" this year. So, it must be true.
In order to find them, I'm going to send you back to Etsy to check out the fabulous-ity that those crazy crafty people have created.
Here's a peek at some of my favorites:
Topiary Recycled Sweater Fingerless Gloves |
I can't explain my love for these funky little gloves. Made by a woman who goes by the name coffeejill (we must be long-lost twins) at Barefoot Stitches, these fingerless gloves are made out of a recycled sweater. They are perfect holiday colors and the topiary trees are decorated with hand sewn beadwork. So lovely, so warm, so happy while turning the pages of your favorite book.
Fluffy Fingerless Gloves |
My next pick speaks to my love of the color teal. That, and they just look so FLUFFY! They are made by a duo of jewelers who make some pretty amazing rings. Makes sense then that Postgate Fine Jewelers would make gloves that show off the wearer's fingers and all the little baubles on those digits. They are wool and alpaca so you know they are warm and cuddly soft.
Original Wristie on a creepy hand mannequin |
Finally, I want to share this fun find. Here is a company that began with a ten year old girl and her dream to stay out in the snow longer. Wristies began in the Gregorys' living room and grew from there. The idea of curling up with a good book, my Snuggie keeping me warm from head to toe, and fleecy Wristies keeping my hands nice and toasty . . . ahhhhh.

About the tree: where is hubby when you most need him, ha ha ha. I bet he had a great visual when you told him about it. Did you wake up the kids making all that noise? By the way, I have indeed shared your link with several of my friends already. They kind of like my own blog: "Meadow of Memories" Keep up the posts...I'm loving them!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing. I can't wait to check out your blog. I'd love to read it. Any chance you'll share a link to it here?
ReplyDeleteHubby was across the country when the tree went down. I'm glad I was still awake when it happened because if I'd been awoken by that horrible crashing noise, I'd have called the cops to investigate an intruder. They'd have busted in and arrested my poor tree. Although a night in the clink may have been just the attitude adjustment it needed.
