Poetry to my ears

I did it!  I used all your words in semi-serious poetry.  It was quite a mental workout.  Thanks for knocking over the comfortable little box I've been holed up in for so long now.  It felt good to stumble out, stretch my muscles and begin this little exercise.

Schwanger mit Hoffnung

There is a moment
Just before the kiss.
Just a breath of a moment.
A moment filled with doubt
Fear, examination, self-hatred, hurt.
A quagmire deep and desolate.
But, the moment is small.
The lips are waiting.
So blindly we push through it
As the waters lap in the distance
And the cool black night
Pulls us closer in space -
And we kiss.
Sweet, salubrious kiss!
There is a moment
Just before the kiss
But more importantly
Is the moment just after.
     "Are you going to hit me now?"
     "Only if you don't shut up,
          And Kiss me again."

Ode to the Epilogue
