YA Reader Appreciation Blog Hop--Man Crush Monday
Welcome NA author Kitsy Clare to the blog to talk about her newest book boyfriend from Private Internship.
In my
newest Art of Love novel, Private Internship, artist Sienna lands
an internship with bad-boy sculptor, Caz Mason. He’s rich, handsome and
talented, but he also likes to play games and test his interns, sometimes to
their breaking points. He has a deep, dark secret but by the time Sienna starts
to uncover it, it’s way too late to turn back. Here are three short passages that describe his sexy appeal:
1. Caz torques his well-toned body and, in the
slick leap of a panther, releases his leg hold on the chain and lands on the
floor facing us. He’s barefoot and panting.
Caz. Oh, my God. As he stalks toward us to the shrieks of
Metallica’s newest track I understand why Tommy is mooning like a kid with a
schoolyard crush. I understand why Caz has a reputation as a lady-killer. And
it’s so damn easy to forget in this one moment that this A-hole art dick has
just fired my best friend, Harper.
2. He locks his rich, hot-chocolate eyes on me,
and studies my every curve and angle, seems to be piercing right through my
skin into the alleys of my mind and heart. Curious,
he’s so curious. I sense him asking where I’m from and why it took me so
long to find him, and what kind of art I do, and whether I’ve ever sold it or
gotten a review, or who I know, who I hang out with, and how much experience
I’ve had in galleries, in school, in the world, in bed. My neck heats up. Did
I just think that?
3. “Come up for air,” he advises. “I’ve got some
special victuals and a game for later.” Victuals is a good old Chaucerian term
for food, ha! I guess Caz has gone to college. But more worrisome games? Meh.
I breathe in the nutty steam of his gourmet coffee, and my
mouth is watering at an earthy, spicy aroma that I can’t quite identify.
Caz escorts me into the studio kitchen. I
notice that he’s put on a lavender shirt that accentuates the molten tones in
his hair. He motions me to sit in one of the chairs and even pushes it in for
me. This rebel knows some good manners.
The blurb:
Sugar’s not so sweet
and secrets can be deadly … especially with matters of the heart
Sienna’s
bestie, Harper warned her not to intern for famous bad boy artist, Casper
Mason. After all, he just fired Harper who helped Sienna get the interview. But
the moment Sienna sees Casper—or Caz—sweaty and practically shirtless and
swinging from chains while he works on his sculpture, she’s hooked. He’s the
richest, hottest artist in New York, and he lives in the fabulous Williamsburg
Sugar Factory. But he’s also an incorrigible game-player, who seems to relish
testing Sienna’s loyalty with a string of unsettling tests.
She knows
she should get away fast. But by the time Sienna sneaks into his locked storage
room and begins to unearth his dark and terrifying secret, she’s fallen way too
hard for the handsome, charismatic Caz.
