Top 10 reasons I love my agent

Here are the top ten reasons I love my agent, Jessica Sinsheimer at Sarah Jane Freymann Literary Agency. (Read about meeting Jessica in Out of the Shark Tank.)

10. Did I mention? I have an agent!

9.  She likes shenanigans—encourages them even.

8.  She refuses to work with mean people, greatly reducing the number of mean people I may have to work with some day. We all know it—mean people suck.

7.  She has a healthy respect for coffee.

6.  She has a healthier respect for wine.

5.  She’s a plotter. I’m a pantser. We’re like a yin-yang tattoo, but not a trampy tattoo.

4.  She has an amazing laugh.

3.  She’s a patient teacher, because goodness knows I have a lot to learn.

2.  She’s wicked smart.

1.  She’s not afraid to push me when I need a good shove.

Crap! I ran out of numbers. Math was never my thing.

1.  The most amazing thing about my agent is that she’s my agent.

She’s sharing this writing journey with me, and I’m not always the best at saying things in person, but I hope she knows how honored I am to work with her.

Knowing I’ve got Jessica on my team makes it so I can sleep at night instead of obsessing about the next steps along the journey.

Knowing my agent loves my manuscript, is passionate about it, and is determined to find it a home, makes it possible for me to close my eyes and dream.
