2014 Debut Author Giveaway Hop

It's close to the holidays and that means it's time for giving. So I've signed up for another bloghop to give you all the opportunity to win lots of bookish prizes. In the last hop I participated in, I stopped by all the blogs and entered a handful of the contests. I met lots of new bookish friends and I won four new books!

Plus, it's super fun to get an email that says, "You're a winner!"

Heck yes, I am!

This hop features debut authors from 2014. My peers! There have been so many amazing writers to break out this year, and this is your opportunity to get to meet them.

As for me, I'm still over the moon about my own debut contemporary young adult novel, Love and Other Unknown Variables, in which Charlie Hanson, a math prodigy with a well mapped plan for his future, must reevaluate his priorities and the trajectory of that future path when he meets a girl with a mathematical tattoo and a devastating secret (dun dun dun—I think it gives it more pizzaz when I add the sound effects).

Love and Other Unknown Variables is doing well in the world. I'm not good at reading reviews (good or bad), but Heather Riccio, publicist extraordinaire at Entangled, and my lovely agent Jessica recently shared this one with me from Kirkus.

I was terrified to hear what Kirkus had to say because, in the past, I've read some not so shiny reviews from them about books I truly liked. Score one for reduced anxiety for me since their kind review of Love and Other Unknown Variables came in!

My favorite part of being a debut author though is readers who take the time to reach out to me and tell me how much they enjoyed Charlie's story. In some cases, people have let me know that reading Charlie's story helped restore their hope. Readers have admitted to openly laughing at the story as well as public crying. And even a few have told me that maybe now they'd be willing to admit that math isn't as terrible as they once thought.

Making connections with people is what matters most to me. I didn't write Love and Other Unknown Variables so I could see my name on a bestseller list (although I wouldn't complain if that were to happen), but so I could share a story and maybe a little hope.

So if you read it and you like it, drop me a line. I'd love to hear from you.

To make it easier for you to get a copy to read, I'm offering an ebook copy of Love and Other Unknown Variables (for Kindle) as my giveaway prize. You must have a valid email address to accept the prize. And since it's digital, this giveaway is open internationally.

    1. I've seen that one on a few lists recently. I'll have to check it out. I have a weird love/hate thing with Oz, so I think that's why I haven't picked it up yet. :)
