Teen Read Week

Happy Teen Read Week, Booknerds!

This week, October 9-15, is Teen Read Week, a weeklong celebration of young adult literature and the teens that read it! Created by Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA), Teen Read Week is a great time to go explore your local libraries, many of which will have special programing for young adults.

I'll be wrapping up my Teen Read Week celebrations in Cincinnati this weekend at Books by the Banks, an amazing book festival that I am beyond thrilled to be a part of this year. If you're in the Cincinnati area, stop by to check it out. There's an amazing lineup of authors (Maggie Stiefvater and Jenny Lawson, I'm looking at you!!) and fun activities for adults, teens, and kids.

If you need some book suggestions for young adult readers, try Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrator's (SCBWI) newest Book BLAST! You'll find Life after Juliet there, as well as many other exciting new books.

What are your favorite young adult books to recommend to friends?

These are just a few of my favorites.
